A prayer for the people of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands from Monsignor James Benavente, who sent us this picture of the statue of Santa Marian Kamalen outside the Agana Cathedral Basilica:
“A visible and tangible image of Our Lady’s calm presence amid the storm as we secured the Cathedral-Basilica last night. Perched high above the Cathedral-Basilica sanctuary in Hågatña,Santa Marian Kamalen has always watched over our Island during natural and man-made calamities. Let us ask for her continued intercession as [Super] Typhoon Mawar approaches Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, that her protective mantle be our source of comfort and protection. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (For the greater glory of God).” – Msgr. James L.G. Benavente
