As mentioned previously, due to limited capacity available on transmission lines until the repair of the 115kV line, certain distribution feeder lines need to be secured. GPA has implemented a 2- hour rotating outages beginning at 11 am to 11 pm today. Please see the schedule below for the 2 hour rotating outages beginning at 11 am today.
The transmission lines are vital to the stabilization of the IWPS, which sustained widespread damage from Typhoon Mawar. As island power is restored to the community, the repairs to the transmission lines become increasingly critical. The repair of the 115 kV line from Harmon substation to Hagatna was completed on Thursday, with the last leg of repairs being between Hagatna and Piti. The repair to the express line is expected within a week.
Restoring the 115kV transmission line is a priority in order to bring reliability back to pre-storm conditions. Transmission line restoration and redundancies are critical to a successful post typhoon recovery.
Our priority is to restore energy back into your homes and businesses; and restore the island-wide power system online at full capacity. GPA linemen and support crews are working night and day for you, your families, and your businesses.
Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for your patience and support.
