Father’s Day power outages in Dededo, Harmon, and Tamuning


Guam Power Authority advises the public that in order to allow for our Snohomish PUD Washington crew to make repairs on the 115kV Transmission line, certain distribution feeder line needs to be secured. This line which feeds power to customers in the villages of Dededo, Harmon, and Tamuning will be interrupted, the outage could be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. tomorrow.

The transmission lines vital to the stabilization of the IWPS sustained widespread damage from Typhoon Mawar. As island power is restored to the community, the repairs to the transmission lines become increasingly critical. The crews will be working along the southbound lane on Route 1 and Route 16 from the Harmon Substation towards the airport overpass. They will also be working on the off ramp towards Dededo.

A schedule below represents the general areas affected and is subject to change based on how quickly the repairs are made and lines restored.

Affected Areas Include:

DEDEDO/HARMON

  • Route 16 right side towards Mobil, Fatima Road, North Liguan and Micronesia Mall, Harmon Loop Road, Cost U Less, Compadres Mall, Kenny’s to include Summer Palace and surrounding areas.
  • Route 16 North to Laundry facility both sides, after Harmon Loop Intersection southbound lane customers to American Bakery, Alageta St., to include Airport hill Rte 16/Rte 1 intersection (Shell station, Harmon Villa Apts, & Pia Marine); including St. Paul’s to Benavente St.
  • Navy side – Rt. 3 to Potts Junction

     

TAMUNING

  • Macheche -Harmon Loop Road left side to Hamburger Road/Adrian Sanchez St., Smithbridge, Tumon Village Apts., Rt 1 from St. John’s School to Carlos Heights and Sgambelluri Road, Two Lover’s Pt. to Tanguisson.
