Baleto is DOCOMO PACIFIC’s new CEO

Longtime Guam businesswoman and former GovGuam finance chief Christine Baleto is the new president and chief executive officer of DOCOMO PACIFIC, the company announced in a news release today.

Ms. Baleto succeeds Rod Boss, who recently announced his retirement.

“As the current Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and Chief Security and Compliance Officer, she has been an integral part of our leadership team since 2019, becoming the first woman to join our Senior Leadership Team,” the Docomo news release states. “With her elevation to this pivotal role, we’re not just welcoming a seasoned leader but embracing the dawn of a new era as she again makes history as the first woman to assume the CEO role within DOCOMO PACIFIC.”

Christine Baleto has served as the CFO and Chief Security & Compliance Officer of DOCOMO PACIFIC. She assumed the CFO position in 2019 and the Chief Security & Compliance Officer position in 2023.

Prior to her employment with DOCOMO PACIFIC, she was the CFO for MidPac Distributors and the Chief Financial Advisor to the Board of its parent company, EC Development.  She also served in the public sector as the Director of the Department of Administration in the Government of Guam, where she was appointed and confirmed by the Guam Legislature in 2016.  As Director, Christine provided oversight and direction to the Government of Guam’s Division of Accounts, Human Resources Division, General Services Agency, Office of Technology, and Treasurer of Guam.

Before serving the public sector, she was the General Manager of Market Wholesale Distributors. This food distribution company represented well-known brands such as Smucker’s, Kraft, Dole Bananas, and C2 Cool & Clean Teas. Under her leadership, the company was the recipient of numerous awards, including:

  • 2012: Smucker’s Special Achievement Award for superior performance and growth in sales
  • 2008: Navy Exchange Guam recognition for the highest volume in sales per vendor, category, and stock-keeping unit (SKU)
  • 2005: Distributor Award for Excellence from Kraft Foods International

She was also personally recognized as the 2007 Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year.

In the non-profit sector, Christine was the Executive Director of Sanctuary, Incorporated, an organization that provides services to runaway and homeless youth and their families. During her tenure, she obtained the resources and oversaw the building of permanent facilities for the organization and the establishment of an endowment fund.

Aside from employment, Christine started her own company and received the award of master franchise rights for the FROOTS brand in Guam and the Marianas. She owned and operated franchise stores in Guam, which employed 18 individuals. She continues operating the Andersen Air Force Base store and recently opened a new location in Agat.

Christine has been married for over 34 years and has three children, two sons-in-law, and two grandsons.
