These kittens are a bit special to me. Some church friends and I rescued them during the Holy Mass right before Christmas. One of them (the black one) almost made it to the highly trafficked main road, while the other two were making their way there. All of them were hard to catch, but super cute.
I brought them to Julie’s Home for Wayward Kittens-Guam in Yona, where she named them after characters in Wicked, the Oz-based prequel to the Wizard of Oz.
Since then, the black one, named Boq, has found his forever home. Madame Morrible (the feistiest of them) is the orange and brown tabby and the classic brown tabby is Galinda. They have been dewormed and treated with Revolution. Each comes with a $100 veterinary credit to Guam Pet Hospital.
“A huge thank you to Jessie for helping me get these tiny tornados all shined up to see the great and powerful Wizard,” the home’s leader, Julie Cunningham, said.
Julie’s Home for Wayward Kittens-Guam is a not-for-profit rescue operation run out of Ms. Cunningham’s home. She and her volunteers have rescued, sterilized, nursed to health, fostered, and adopted out hundreds of kittens and cats in Guam. They do not get paid for this work. They put in their own resources when they don’t get enough donations from the public to sustain the operation. Every now and then the home will host a yard sale to raise funds for the upkeep of the operation. Stay tuned to Kandit and to Julie’s Wayward Home for Kittens-Guam on Facebook for these weekly updates of kittens and cats for adoption, and for their next fundraiser.
You can also donate any time.
