Kandit has omitted the names of the defendant and the victims in this case for two reasons combined: 1) the defendant reportedly has mental health issues that cause him to become violent when he has not taken his medication; and 2) the victims understand this and did not want to press any charges against him. Understanding these, we leave it to the health and justice systems to sort these matters out to the benefit of all parties.
We are publishing the magistrate report because the public at least has a right to know these issues arise on our island.
