Archdiocese of Agana — Catholic schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 13 as the island will be placed on Condition of Readiness 2 (COR2) at 6 p.m. today. Guam Homeland Security announced that Acting Governor Josh Tenorio placed Guam in COR3 at 12 noon today, Tuesday, Nov. 12. Guam Department of Education officials announced that public schools will be closed tomorrow.
Guam Homeland Security stated, “COR 2 is forecasted for 6:00pm this evening. At COR 2 schools and non-essential government offices will be closed. Tropical Storm Man-Yi is projected to impact early Wednesday morning. At 10:00 a.m. ChST, Tropical Storm Man-Yi is 300 miles East of Guam, moving West-SouthWest toward Guam at 8 mph with sustained winds at 45mph.”
Faculty and staff at our Catholic schools should follow their usual school protocols and secure their respective sites after classes today. Parents and guardians, please stay informed through island media and your school’s information system. The archdiocese will send updates as needed.
