Federal agent arrested for threatening deportation, coercing woman to have sex with him and give him money

News release from the Guam Police Department:

On November 5, 2024, Detectives with the Domestic Assault Response Team (DART) received a report from an individual on behalf of the complainant, detailing alleged coercion and exploitation by a man, who reportedly used his official position as a U.S. Border Patrol Officer to demand money and sexual favors. The man later identified as Myeongsu Kim initially engaged the victim in conversation during her entry to Guam, leveraging their shared language and her limited English proficiency to establish control.

Mr. Kim assured the complainant that he could prevent her deportation, allegedly demanding money and eventually forcing her into unwanted sexual acts under threat of deportation. Subsequent interactions reportedly involved Mr. Kim misrepresenting himself as an immigration officer and making further inappropriate advances.

On November 6, 2024, with support from federal partners, GPD Detectives arrested Myeongsu Kim also known as “Jason,” for the following offenses:

Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC): 1st and 2nd Degree
Family Violence
Involuntary Servitude
Criminal Intimidation
Felonious Restraint
Robbery and Theft
Tampering with Records
Official Misconduct, Theft by Deception, Theft by Threatening, and Stalking.

Mr. Kim was booked and confined to the Department of Corrections and the case has been forwarded the Attorney General’s Office for further review and prosecution.
