Girl, 14, shot and in stable condition. Police looking for suspects


The Guam Police Department is asking for your help in finding two vehicles believed to be involved in a pre-dawn shooting that has left a 14-year-old girl in stable condition.

According to a news release from GPD, at about 2:39 a.m. today the girl was shot near Shop for Less in Maite. Police responded to the parking lot of the store where they observed the girl who had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. “The victim was immediately transported for further medical assessment and treatment,” the news release states.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division now are investigating. They are searching for two vehicles:

1. Tan-colored pickup truck with damage to the front passenger side; possibly an American-made truck.

2. White sedan; no further description.

The release states: “The investigation is developing. As the investigation continues we are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident in the Maite area or has any information relevant to the case to call Police Dispatch at 671-475-8615 with any relevant information. We assure the community that we are actively investigating this matter and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
