Guam-based IGI expands reach as 2 federal health policy experts join board

The Board of Directors of International Group, Inc., are pleased to announce that Mr. Thomas E. Lorentzen will serve as the corporation’s “Director of Healthcare Policy.” Mr. Lorentzen served as the Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services in Region IX from 2006-2009 as an appointee in the administration of President George W. Bush.

During his tenure as Regional Director, Tom was responsible for overseeing Federal healthcare policies for the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, and the Western Pacific, including Guam. He possesses a M.A. Degree in Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations. Since leaving the government, Tom has served as a consultant to private sector and government clients, including in the Territory of Guam.

Lorentzen

The Board of Directors of International Group, Inc., are also pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement with the consulting firm that Mr. Lorentzen has founded, titled “Health Approaches.”  It is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm provides expertise in public health policies and medical insurance policy, particularly as it pertains to Medicare and Medicaid.

In addition to Mr. Lorentzen, an added principal is Mr. David Sayen. David had a long-term career as a senior civil servant at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). From 2007 to 2017 he served as Regional Administrator for CMS in Region IX.  In this capacity he was the senior official for the states in Region IX, which also includes the Pacific Rim and the U.S. Territory of Guam. David brings major expertise on government medical insurance policies and the interconnection with the Federal Government and U.S. states and territories. He also provides expertise on government contracting, including the management of contracts and compliance requirements. Of added significance is his expertise on public health policies and medical information technology.

Sayen

The addition of Mr. Lorentzen and Mr. Sayen to the International Group, Inc. network is part of the corporation’s strategic plan to broaden the services we provide through ourhealthcare development division.
