Lions Club donates to Guardsmen, shelterees

Lions Club International District 204 Wednesday donated 75 plates of food from Jamaican Grill to Guam National Guardsmen directing traffic. The charitable organization will be donated another 83 plates of food to the Guard tomorrow.

“We want to thank them for their service in protecting our community,” Past District Governor Herbie A. Perez said, while she was waiting for the plates order outside Jamaican Grill’s Hagatna location around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. “Because I witnessed the other day, this Guardsman is trying to stop the car, and the car just went through. You know, I think it’s really scary, and I think people need to be more respectful.”

District 204 also donated 250 packages of dry goods (stuff like Cup-O-Noodles) Tuesday to shelterees at Maria Ulloa Elementary School.
