Congressman Michael San Nicolas Tuesday said he’s helping the governor to secure $345 million in federal funding to make a down payment on a new hospital so that she can use the other $600 million he secured for her on other priorities. Specifically, he said he wants the governor to provide a formula-laden unemployment assistance program so that tens of thousands of families don’t fall into further despair after PUA expires this week.
