Guam Police Department spokeswoman Berlyn Savella released the following statement Thursday afternoon:
“Earlier this morning before 9AM, June 30th, 2022, Our officers from Dededo Precinct responded to a caller requesting police assistance reporting they may have possibly located what appeared to be human remains within the area of Mendioka and Addeng Street, off Rt. 16, Harmon.
“Our officers responded and conducted their assessment. GPD’s Criminal Investigation Section and our Crimes Scene Investigator was activated.
“At this time, we are in the preliminary stages of an ongoing investigation for found remains.”
Ms. Savella added the evidence was gathered and sent to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner for their findings and report.
