The Vatican early this morning (Guam time) released worrisome news that Pope Francis is in critical condition as he battles respiratory illness in a Rome hospital.
The Holy Father’s condition has been described by a doctor as “touch and go” because of his age and his condition. He was admitted to Gemelli hospital on February 14, then later was diagnosed with a complex viral, bacterial, and fungal respiratory tract infection. His condition was reported to be stable until hours ago, when the Vatican said he suffered a prolonged asthmatic respiratory crisis “while being treated for pneumonia and a complex lung infection,” the Associated Press quoted a Vatican statement.
He remains conscious, according to the report. But, doctors worry germs in his lungs may travel into his bloodstream causing sepsis.

Meanwhile, Archbishop of Agana Ryan Jimenez announced his appointments of Archdiocese leaders, which are to take effect March 3:
