Rotating 2-hour power outages in almost every village through tonight

In the interest of providing customers with information so that they can plan accordingly, the Guam Power Authority advises customers of rotating outages scheduled for today.

As mentioned previously, due to limited capacity available on transmission lines until the repair of the 115kV line, certain distribution feeder lines need to be secured. GPA has implemented a 2- hour rotating outages beginning at 1 pm to 11 pm today. The rotating schedule below is through 5 pm today. Additional rotating schedule is forthcoming.

The transmission lines are vital to the stabilization of the IWPS, which sustained widespread damage from Typhoon Mawar. As island power is restored to the community, the repairs to the transmission lines become increasingly critical. The repair of the 115 kV line from Harmon substation to Hagatna was completed yesterday, with the last leg of repairs being between Hagatna and Piti. The repair to the express line is expected within a week.

Restoring the 115kV transmission line is a priority in order to bring reliability back to pre-storm conditions. Transmission line restoration and redundancies are critical to a successful post typhoon recovery.

Our priority is to restore energy back into your homes and businesses; and restore the island-wide power system online at full capacity. GPA linemen and support crews are working night and day for you, your families, and your businesses.

Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for your patience and support.

The schedule below represents a list of potentially affected areas. This schedule is subject to change based on how quickly the repairs are made and lines restored.
