The following information was provided by Brandon Aydlett, meteorologist with the National Weather Service Guam Office:
No Tropical Storm Watches are in effect in association with the two nearby systems, Tropical Storm Man-Yi and Invest 94W.
Invest 94W is now rated medium potential for development, meaning significant tropical cyclone development is likely, but beyond 24 hours. The current track is still favored to move southwest of Guam, but peripheral showers and strong to near-gale gusts are possible tonight and Monday with passing showers moving through Guam and Rota. Tinian and Saipan are far enough north from 94W to only see see limited impacts from its passage. Currently, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for Guam through Monday afternoon and a High Risk of Rip Currents is in effect along east reefs of the Marianas through Tuesday afternoon.
Tropical Storm Man-yi, about 690 miles east of Saipan, is expected to reach peak intensity tonight, then gradually weaken as it approaches the Marianas, projected to pass near Anatahan Tuesday night and Wednesday. The probability of tropical storm force winds is still on the low side, less than 20 percent, and may even see calm winds for the Southern CNMI if Man-Yi passes north of Saipan.
