News release from the Guam Police Department:
On Thursday, August 19, 2021, GPD’S Highway Patrol Division were activated to assume a fatal crash that occurred on Route 15 by Chalan Matildan Tan Ana, in Yigo.
Preliminary reports suggest that at around 7:15 p.m., a gray Nissan Kicks was traveling north on Route 15, when a black Buick Rendezvous, traveling on the opposite southbound lane collided with the Nissan.
As a result of the crash, both operators were transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care. The female operator of the Nissan was later pronounced deceased by attending physicians. A female minor passenger within the Nissan was also transported to Guam Memorial Hospital for treatment and care.
This crash investigation remains open as traffic investigators have yet to determine if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
