$100 GPA credit applied to accounts today

Guam Power Authority received the money the legislature appropriated to reduce power bills by $100 every month from October to December. The first credit was applied to all accounts Wednesday afternoon, according to GPA’s spokeswoman, Joyce Sayama.

GPA General Manager John. M. Benavente, P.E. said, “Once again GPA thanks Speaker Therese Terlaje, Vice Speaker Muña Barnes and Senators Barnett, Parkinson, Perez, Quinata, San Agustin, Shelton, and Taitague of the 37th Guam Legislature who voted to pass Bill 173-37 to extend this energy credit for our customers. We also thank Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero for her support and for signing the bill into law to assist our ratepayers.”

“We also thank our partners at DOA for working swiftly to distribute the funding for the energy credit extension so our customers can experience the savings immediately. This couldn’t have come at a better time to provide relief during the holidays. Customers can log in to their accounts now to view the credit,” added GM Benavente.
