The following is from the Guam Department of Corrections:
Twelve (12) detainees confined at The Department of Corrections have tested positive for COVID- 19. The detainees were confined between August 26 and September 08, 2021. Nine (09) detainees were housed together and three (3) were brought in by GPD. The positive detainees have been moved to our designated medical quarantine facility in Mangilao and are under medical observation.
To date, (181) or (91%) of DOC staff have been vaccinated and (586) prisoners have been vaccinated. As of today, none of our staff have tested positive for COVID-19. DOC will continue to follow all the Governor’s directives and the guidance from Department of Public Health and Social Services.
