7th man arrested in Dededo Skate Park case

Police Wednesday arrested Jesrick Tom, 19, for the role he allegedly played in the Dededo Skate Park riot that left three young men injured, one of whom lost an eye.

“On March 9, 2022, Guam Police Department’s Community Crimes Task Force continued the investigation of the Dededo Skate Park riot,” a statement from GPD spokeswoman Berlyn Savella states. “Through witness interviews and information gathered they located another male suspect who was identified to be involved in the riot that occurred during the early morning hours of March 2, 2022. At about 1:25 p.m., CCTF officers arrived at a residence in Dededo and met with a suspect, Jesrick Honest D. Tom, who was informed of the investigation to which he acknowledged.”

Mr. Tom then was arrested for rioting, aggravated assault, and underage consumption of alcohol.

GPD CCTF officers have arrested six others for their alleged part in the violence.

Over the last weekend, police arrested Mali Ios, 19, Jame Repwak, 23, and John Joshua, 18, all of Dededo. On Monday, police arrested Darwin Jay Imbuido Fortes, 22, and Kayson Nick, 19, of Dededo. Officers Tuesday afternoon arrested Vince Phillip, 22, of Dededo. All were arrested for aggravated assault and rioting; other arrest charges varied among the men.
Mr. Ios appears to be the man who recorded a video of the riot that went viral.
Witness reports, according to one of the magistrates complaints in the case, suggest at least one more person was involved and remains at large in connection with the riot. The magistrates complaint reflects eye-witness testimony naming Jame Repwak and Darwin Fortes attacking a “big Chamorro guy.” The witness also reported seeing Kayson Nick throw a bottle of Captain Morgan at a person. Chesrick Tom and a man named Bati were punching people while Mali Ios recorded the altercation with his cellphone, according to the magistrates report.
