93W becomes tropical depression, heading toward Marianas

The following update on two weather systems the National Weather Service Guam Office has been tracking the past two days is provided by NWS Guam meteorologist Brandon Aydlett:

As anticipated, Invest 93W has continued to intensify and is now a brisk-moving, 35mph Tropical Depression 25W, eventually heading toward the Marianas for midweek.

Invest 94W continues toward Guam, but hasn’t shown any notable organization the past 18 hours and still is rated as LOW for development by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, meaning a tropical depression [formation] is unlikely within 24 hours. We’re still looking at a Sunday to early Monday passage southwest of Guam.
