Archdiocese of Agana to toll bells at 3 p.m. for islandwide prayer ahead of storm

Fr. Romeo Convocar, the apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Agana, has ordered that the bells be tolled at every church tower throughout Guam at 3 p.m., and he is inviting the people to pray the following prayer at that time from wherever they are:

Almighty Ruler, Christ, Who in the flesh, which Thou didst assume, were asleep in the boat, when the rising tempest disturbed the sea, which directly at Thy awakening and command did fall silent, come kindly to aid Thy people in their needs. Let all evil spirits be driven afar; let thunder and lightning, stormy waters and winds be banished; let the power of your hand put down the evil powers of the air, causing them to tremble at the sound of these bell, and to flee at the sight of the holy cross engraved in the hearts of your people. As the sound of these vessels pierce the clouds, may angelic hands preserve the assembly of Thy Church; may everlasting protection save the fruits of those who believe, their souls and their bodies. Through Thee, O Christ Jesus, Who with God the Father live and reign in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, God, world without end. R. Amen. Sånta Marian Kamalen, R/. Pray for us.
