The baby, whom rescuers took from a woman threatening to commit suicide at Two Lovers Point Sunday, died minutes later.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
The following is a news release from the Guam Police Department regarding the investigation:
As reported, on Sunday, May 22, 2022, GPD’S Crisis Negotiation Team was activated relative to an incident involving a woman and her minor child at Two Lovers Point, in Harmon.
At around 9:00am, members from the CNT convinced the woman to relinquish the child who appeared to be unresponsive. The 1-year-old female child was immediately transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care.
At around 9:36am, she was pronounced deceased by attending physicians from Guam Regional Medical City.
This case investigation has been assumed by GPD’S Criminal Investigation Division, as this death investigation is ongoing at this time.
An autopsy has yet to be performed to determine to cause and manner of death.
