The Guam Police Department provides the following update on its investigation into a woman reported missing last week:
On July 7th, 2023, the Guam Police Department reached out to the community through social media for assistance in locating a Missing Person.
Archenin Kathleen Mwarepue
Female, Age 22, Chuukese
5’7 in height, approximately 195lbs.
Brown Eyes and Black Hair. Last seen wearing a black shirt with camouflage sweatpants in the village of Malojloj.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division assumed and led the investigation conducting interviews, meeting with village residents, and reviewing available camera footage and sweeping the jungle lines near Ms. Mwarepue’s family residence.
July 12th, 2023, GPD Officers, Detectives, Special Operations Personnel and Personnel from the Guam Fire Department (GFD) extended the search deep within the jungle lines, highway, village roadways and cliff lines along Malojloj.
A drone aerial search was conducted along the Malojloj Cliff Line. The aerial search led investigators to an area of interest in which they located the decomposed remains of a person matching the description of Ms. Mwarepue.
The GFD Rescue Units 1, 2, and 3 are providing assistance with the recovery of the body. The investigation continues.
