Sources informed Kandit that early this morning medics transported an unconscious man, who appeared to have been stabbed, to Guam Regional Medical City from the plaza at the corner of Route 1 and Wusstig Road. The Guam Police Department confirmed there was an incident at this plaza early this morning, and that the man died. The following is a news release from GPD spokeswoman Berlyn Savella:
On Monday, August 8, 2022, at approximately 1:30am, Patrol officers from Dededo Precinct responded to a call of a unconscious male individual in the parking lot of the Dededo Center by the former Crown Bakery.
Officers arrived and found an unresponsive man with multiple puncture wounds on his body.
The male was reported by bystanders to have been involved in an earlier altercation at the same location.
The male was transported to Guam Regional Medical City by Guam Fire Department Medics and was pronounced deceased upon his arrival there.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation section were activated and assumed control of the ongoing investigation.
