CNMI Gov. Arnold Palacios sends his prayers to the people of Guam

It’s looking more and more that Typhoon Mawar will be hitting Guam some time tonight, into tomorrow (Wednesday, May 24, 2023) — (of course, things can change, as no weather forecast can be accurately predicted). Last night, CNMI Gov. Arnold Palacios, in an interview with Kandit News, asked that we relay his prayers for the people of Guam.

The people of the Commonwealth are recently familiar with the devastation of supertyphoon, as they experienced the destruction of Soudelor in 2015, and Yutu in 2018. The latest forecasts from the National Weather Service say it is possible Guam may experience a supertyphoon, when Mawar arrives.

Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero has ordered an evacuation of low-lying coastal areas by 6 p.m. tonight, and has said it is possible Guam will be battered by 150-miles per hour sustained winds.

Thank you, Gov. Leon Guerrero for your leadership, and Gov. Palacios for your leadership and your prayers.
