CPS takes toddler who police found in alleged drug transaction in parking lot


The following is from a news release from the Guam Police Department:

November 19, 2021, Guam Police Department; Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) was conducting a follow-up investigation in the Dededo area when Detectives came across two suspicious vehicles parked in the parking lot of a village store known to have been closed for several months.

CIS Detectives observed an exchange between a male and female who were identified to be Rodrigo Torres Cruz and Maria Evelyn Alano Dimla.

A toddler was identified to be in one of the vehicles while a transaction was taking place.

An undetermined amount of Crystal Methamphetamine and U.S. Currency was seized as a result of the investigation.

Rodrigo Torres Cruz was arrested for Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Distribution

Maria Evelyn Alano Dimla was arrested for Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Child Abuse.

Both Cruz and Dimla were confined at the Department of Corrections and the toddler was relinquished to Child Protective Services.
