Duenas, Lujan, and staff assisting recovery effort


Senators Chris Duenas and Jesse Lujan, whose legislative offices are inoperable, have taken their offices to two food packaging and distribution sites to help feed the people.

Mr. Lujan and his staff have been working out of the Tamuning Mayor’s Office and the adjacent Tamuning Senior Center, where one of the food packaging and distribution site  is located. They have been helping with the recovery effort since last Friday.

Mr. Duenas and his staff have been packaging and distributing food out of the Piti mayor’s site since last week, as well.

Vice Speaker Tina Muna Barnes and Sen. Amanda Shelton this week also have been seen assisting with the food drive, which provides for any person in need of food on Guam

The Guam Legislature and its central office staff are hosting a Registration Intake Center (RIC)  at the Guam Congress Building in Agana. The RIC is for people applying for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance.

FEMA representatives will be at the Congress Building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m every day this week to assist people who do not have accessibility to a computer or internet access or who may have difficulty navigating the online registration application.

Interested people applying for FEMA assistance are asked to have their social security number, banking information and routing numbers readily available before meeting with FEMA representatives.

All information provided to FEMA is kept confidential.
