From the Office of the Governor of Guam:
On January 29, 2024, the Department of Revenue and Taxation began accepting TY 2023 tax return filings. Three (3) weeks later, refunds for Tax Year 2023 launched their initial disbursements, reaching some 14,666 early filers.
On March 5, 2024, the Department of Revenue & Taxation processed and the Department of Administration mailed checks or paid by direct deposit 4.320 Individual Tax (1040) refund payments totaling $12,593,384, for Tax Year 2023 and prior error-free returns filed on or before February 13, 2024.
Individual Tax refunds paid this week totaled 4,483, of which 4,320 (98%) were for Early Filers for Tax Year 2023. A grand total of $58,054,522 refund payments have been processed in FY 2024 to date. Refunds will continue to be paid weekly. Due to the volume of early filers for Tax Year 2023, an unprecedented payment turnaround time will continue to fluctuate between 3 to 6 WEEKS.
NOTE: Individuals receiving payment by direct deposit will see a $0 transaction in their bank account prior to receiving their refunds (-note).
