This morning, a source of information told Kandit a woman known to a Guam Police Department officer assigned to its Internal Affairs division filed a complaint of abuse against this officer. The physical abuse allegedly has been going on for months.
GPD spokeswoman Berlyn Savella, at 11:33 a.m. sent the following news release (note that we have yet to confirm whether these two incidents are one in the same):
The Guam Police Department is investigating a criminal complaint against a police officer for an alleged assault complaint that occurred on March 19, 2022, after 2 p.m., in the Tamuning area.
Chief of Police Stephen Ignacio has been notified of the complaint and placed the
officer on administrative leave.
