Help Crime Stoppers through the annual 5k/2k Run Against Crime

Want to help the fight against crime? Your participation or donation to the March 23, 2024 annual McDonald’s 5k/2k Run Against Crime will help non-profit Guam Crime Stoppers to continue operating and accepting anonymous tips that to date has led to an average of 500 annual crime tips and the return and disposal of $4 million worth of stolen property and drugs, respectively.

“This organization is not funded by any private or government agency, except from sponsorships and grants,” according to a solicitation letter signed by organization chairman Jimmy McDonald and McDonald’s Divina Evaristo, who is the vice chairwoman of GCS. “GCS has shown to be of assistance in solving numerous recent crimes from assaults to robberies.”

SPONSORSHIP

The first way you can help is to sponsor the event. Race organizers are offering three tiers of sponsorship – Bronze, Silver, and Gold – which will buy your company or organization different levels of advertising to race participants, and other privileges. Mr. McDonald (not related to Ronald McDonald) and Ms. Evaristo expect more than 500 participants in the 5k/2k. Please see the image below for more detail.

PARTICIPATION

You may pre-register by paying $15 at Mark’s in Anigua, Goody’s in Dededo, or the McDonald’s Tamuning main office any week day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Or, you may participate on the day of the race by paying $25. The first 500 finishers will receive a dri-fit shirt. Please see the image below for more detail.
