Last 5K of the year raised money for the poor

Hundreds of Guamanians closed out 2023 in a 5K fundraiser by the Todu Guam Foundation that will benefit people in need of medical care and basic life necessities.

The foundation, which started as a mobile vaccination clinic for public school kids who need shots to enroll in school, has blossomed into a multi-faceted non-governmental, non-profit social services agency for the underserved and the impoverished. It is 100 percent privately funded by grants, donors, and donations made via fundraisers like this morning’s Getting Guam Healthy 2023 5K Bubble Run/Walk.

They had their mobile clinic. Volunteers passed out health information. Kids were playing it up in pools of bubbles. People walked. People ran. Athletes competed. Parents pushed their babies in strollers. There was a DJ.

Tumon was lit from 5 a.m. with the energy of people who wanted to make a difference for themselves and for others.

Join the next 5K – whoever hosts it – for your health. And support the next event Todu Guam has for the health of others.
