Lions Club helped nearly 500 in need, fed hundreds of Guardsmen during recovery


Ten of the Lions Club International District 204’s officers and members purchased, packaged, and donated hundreds of care packages and hot meals to Guamanians in need, and to Guam National Guardsmen activated for the disaster recovery in the wake of Typhoon Mawar’s destruction.

The charitable, non-profit organization packaged and donated 225 gift bags filled with dry goods for shelterees at Maria Ulloa Elementary School, and 196 gift bags for consumers of the Department of Integrated Services for Individuals with Disabilities. The members packaged and donated another 56 gift bags of hygiene products for DISID consumers in need.

Their work in the community began immediately after the typhoon, and will continue, according to Past District Governor Herbie A. Perez.
