Lt. Governor’s Office Responds to Kandit News Report on FBI Investigation, Questions Credibility

In response to Kandit News’ recent coverage of a federal investigation allegedly involving two relatives of Guam’s Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio, one of his key staff members, Chris Flores, issued a statement challenging the credibility of our sources and questioning our methodology.

In a message posted on Kandit News Facebook page, Flores stated, “Troy… I am not aware of any of your news source or whether you really have credible sources? With that said, why are you speculating, insinuating or playing a guessing game while there’s still nothing concrete coming out of the courts or by local or federal law enforcement officials? I don’t understand your methodology of reporting evidence-based news? I hope you’re doing well and not having PTSD?”

The comments come amid mounting public interest in Kandit News’ reports alleging corruption within the Lt. Governor’s circle. While the investigation is reportedly ongoing, Flores’ statement appears to suggest that no concrete evidence has been presented by federal or local authorities to substantiate the claims.

However, Kandit News maintains its commitment to responsible journalism and stands by its sources. We are closely following this developing story and continue to investigate the allegations through verified channels.

Adding to the controversy, Stephanie Flores, another member of the Lt. Governor’s team, indicated that all official communications related to the administration must come directly from the Governor’s Office of Communication. “Official statements are issued through the Communications Office,” Flores stated via WhatsApp.

Kandit challenged Ms. Flores with her co-worker’s competing and conflicting statement, asking her “Is it true that the Feds have nothing? If so, how does the Office of the Lieutenant Governor know that? Did the FBI or the USA call the Lieutenant Governor to tell him the investigation is over and there were no findings to sustain a prosecution? Are the multiple victims lying about [name redacted] and [name redacted]’s alleged crimes?

“It’s [Mr. Flores’] personal opinion,” Ms. Flores said.

“So his opinion is unsubstantiated, as far as your office is aware,” we asked her. She did not reply.

As of this publication, neither the Governor’s Office nor federal agencies have released any statements confirming or denying the involvement of a family member of Lt. Governor Tenorio in the investigation.

Kandit News is committed to providing the public with transparent and factual reporting. We urge the Lt. Governor’s office to clarify these allegations and provide the public with the transparency they deserve. In the meantime, we will continue to pursue the truth with the diligence and integrity that our readers expect.

Stay tuned as this story unfolds.
