Developing news release from the Guam Police Department: On September 9, 2023, at approximately 3:20 PM, Patrol Officers from Central Precinct responded to a report of a shooting reported in front of Hi5 Logo Shop in Maite.
According to witnesses, a man dressed in all black, believed to be armed, was reported to have walked through Wash & Dry Laundromat.. A second caller reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a conscious male victim lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. Immediate medical aid was provided by officers until the arrival of Guam Fire Department Medics.
Following the release of suspect’s description, coordinated efforts led to the apprehension of the alleged suspect within the area.
The victim was transported to Naval Hospital. This is an ongoing investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
