Don’t freak out just yet, but the National Weather Service Guam office has its eyes on Invest 98W, a tropical disturbance developing near Pohnpei. Here is the latest on Invest 98W (and Invest 97W) from Landon Aydlett, chief meteorologist:
We are watching two tropical disturbances in the NWS Guam Area of Responsibility. Invest 97W (west of Guam) passed near Guam overnight bringing showers and thunderstorms to the southern Marianas. Showers and thunderstorms will gradually taper in coverage overnight, with some heavy showers still near Guam and Rota (as of 3PM). Significant development is not expected at this time from 97W, and any development that would occur, would be west of the Marianas. Farther east, we are closely watching Invest 98W (near Pohnpei) as it evolves in the FSM. Current long range forecast models show 98W developing in the coming days and passing near or through the Marianas early to mid-next week. At this time, 98W is rated as “SUB-LOW” for development by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, which means that significant development into a tropical depression is not expected in the next 24 hours. However, as this is an evolving situation, folks in the Marianas should watch weather conditions and forecast trends very closely through the weekend as the long-range forecasts can change in the coming days. You should stand in front of the Phillipine consulate on Guam, shake you puny fist, and just sincerely ask God why are these GovGuam flips SOOO CORRUPT.
But you will only vote the corrupt GovGuam ethnic Filipinos in again.
