Repeat wife beater convicted. AG seeks maximum five-year prison term.

KN Niosy, who has an extensive rap sheet for family violence and child abuse charges, faces a maximum of five years in prison after a jury convicted him of third degree felony family violence that happened in March. Attorney General Douglas Moylan wants Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena III to sentence him to all five years.

“Defendant has a lengthy criminal history, including at least six prior Family Violence convictions,” Mr. Moylan said. “The dangerous cycle of ‘catch – release & reoffend’ must stop. Our Office is committed to protecting our community and fighting to imprison bad guys who would do us and our families harm. We also thank GPD Chief Stephen Ignacio & his hard-working men & women officers who daily catch these criminals to protect us.”

Mr. Moylan and his Office of the Attorney General of Guam have been on a roll in court, winning jury trials and sending drug users and traffickers, rapists, and wife beaters to prison.

“This verdict is another victory by this ‘toughest on crime’ AG’s Office,” Mr. Moylan said.

According to the charges brought against Mr. Niosy, on March 31, 2023, Mr. Niosy went to the home of his children’s mother, and later began beating two of the children.

The woman tried to stop him before “he punched her twice on the right arm and threw her on the sofa. When [she] stood up after being thrown, [Niosy] grabbed her by the throat and squeezed it causing her to lose her breath,” according to the declaration of probable cause used to charge him in April.

“My daddy always hurts me”

The declaration goes on to state:

“Defendant then took [her] phone and instructed her and all the kids, including Victim 2 and Victim 3, to go into the room and remain there. Defendant further indicated that they were not to exit the room until he allows it. After a few hours, Defendant allowed them to leave the room. When [she] told Defendant to leave, he refused. When [she] spoke to Defendant about changing his behavior, he refused and became angry. Defendant then threw a box of milk to [her] face. When [she] tried to run toward the back door, Defendant grabbed her from behind, causing her to fall on the concrete ground outside. Defendant grabbed [her] hair and dragged her back inside the house. When officers conducted a scene check Victim 2 indicated, “my daddy always hurts me.”

According to the charging document, Mr. Niosy previously had pleaded  to two separate cases of family violence.
