Schedule of potential power outages on Guam for July 20, 2023

From Guam Power Authority:

The Guam Power Authority advises customers of possible 1-hour rotating outages beginning today at 5:30 p.m. through 11 p.m. due to limited generation capacity.
Macheche Combustion Turbine tripped offline at approximately 5:15 p.m. today, reducing the generation capacity by 18MW. As of 5:20 p.m., the total power generation capacity was 217.4 megawatts which may fall short of peak demand.
Emergency repairs to the unit are underway, however, if there is a shortage of generation capacity tonight, GPA will, as a last resort to maintain grid stability, implement rotating outages lasting up to 1-hour. Power will be reconnected to all affected customers at the top of each hour.
This notice is provided but does not mean a power interruption will occur. The schedule of outages for tonight will be posted on GPA’s website and social media pages. We thank you for your understanding and continued patience.
