Sick girl, 11, needs help to overcome unknown illness

Hafa adai. This is a special request from us here at Kandit. This is about a girl named Ariah. She is our Eric Rosario’s sister’s daughter.

Ariah is 11. She is sick, and doctors on Guam don’t know what’s causing her violent seizures. That is why she needs off island specialty care. To get that care, she needs your help to defray the costs of her care and her family’s travel with her.

A couple months ago the family began taking Ariah into urgent care and the emergency room, when she began fainting and losing consciousness. They thought at first she had a heart condition, but every time they took her in for care, her results would come back clean. They knew something was wrong, though, but doctors just couldn’t figure it out. Her condition worsened week by week, and by the time school started, she was getting worse by the day.

They took her to GRMC, where one doctor suspected she was having seizures in her sleep. Sure enough, the next morning as they watched her in bed, she began seizing. She was then admitted to GRMC. All they could do was watch as her seizures got worse. Now they happen at any time of the day. Doctors prescribed her medication to deal with the seizures, but after a battery of tests and days admitted in the hospital (they were transferred to GMH), they cannot find the underlying condition.

The family started a GoFundMe page to accept donations of any amount from any of you willing to donate to her cause. Here is the page:
