The Joint Typhoon Warning Center has just upgraded Invest 98W to Tropical Depression 15W. The National Weather Service Guam office will explain further details at a 3 p.m. briefing at the Guam Emergency Operations Center. Kandit will livecast the briefing live on our Facebook and YouTube platforms.

Tropical Depression 15W was located near 9.8N 154.5E, approximately 610 NM east-southeast of Andersen Air Force Base, and had tracked west-northwestward at 11 knows over the past six hours. Maximum sustained surface winds were estimated at 25 knots gusting to 35 knots.
