Armed with a fresh set of appropriations in the new fiscal year budget, Gov. Ralph Torres has continued his spree of political hiring today with the recruitment of Marie Salas-Igitol as the new special assistant for military and veteran affairs.
Ms. Salas-Igitol, who is not a veteran, replaces Stanley Iakapo, a veteran with a decorated 21-year military career. Mr. Iakapo resigned last month. She is, however, the wife and mother of veterans.
