In a joint effort with the Mayors Council of Guam and the Guam Visitors Bureau, Senator Lujan co-sponsored a special event for Guam War Survivors and their family, in honor of the recent “War Survivor Remembrance Day,” recognized annually on June 28th.

“In my previous terms, my office coordinated events for our senior citizens with the Baldyga Group. When we held the presentation and proclamation for “War Survivor Remembrance Day” last month, I knew I wanted to do something similar, this time for our war survivors.” Lujan said.

Just a few days before the Legislature observed “War Survivor Remembrance Day” in the public hearing room, Senator Lujan was among the public officials, dignitaries and public figures invited to the premier of the Baldyga Group’s latest show, “Kårera, Voyage of Wonder.”

“It was a great show and I think it will be a treat for our war survivors to enjoy. When I found out that the Mayors Council and the Guam Visitors Bureau were also looking to plan an event for our war survivors, I suggested sponsoring a matinee showing for war survivors and one family member of their choosing. I enjoyed putting together these types of events in my previous terms, so I was happy to help the Mayors Council and the Guam Visitors Bureau.” Lujan stated.

“This event comes at a time when our war survivors are getting along in years and their population is decreasing. Co-sponsoring this event provides the opportunity for our strong senior citizen survivors to go out with a family member, enjoy premier entertainment, and create new experiences in their twilight years. I am happy to help bring some joy to these inspirational men and women of our community,” Lujan concluded.

The free matinee showing for War Survivors and one family or friend guest is on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Please call the Guam Visitors Bureau at (671)646-5278 to make a reservation.
