Guam AG on trial victory streak against pedophiles

Denamarquez faces 60 years in prison, perhaps deportation

Gregorio T. Denamarquez, Jr. may face the next 60 years of his life in prison if Attorney General Douglas Moylan prevails at Mr. Denamarquez’s sentencing. A jury today convicted the 40-year-old non-U.S. citizen of three of five counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a then-minor he began to molest in 2014.

Mr. Moylan, in a news release, said he will be working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials “to secure a detainer and have him deported. We will consult with the victim and her parents to decide the best timing for deportation.”

According to the indictment against Mr. Denamarquez, he molested a young girl from 2014 to 2021. The prosecutor’s 2022 declaration of probable cause, which first described the crimes, states that as early as 2019, family members of the girl witnessed Mr. Denamarquez’s “inappropriate behavior” toward the girl. The girl told police that – among the other instances of molestation – he would frequently get drunk, become aggressive, and force her to sit on his lap. A family member also told police the girl “was always upset by these events and ran into her room, cried, and locked the door due to her distress.”

While the attorney general has taken a hard stance against meth traffickers and users, he has shown far less mercy to sex offenders and especially to those convicted of harming children. His prosecutors have been on a winning streak with the sex crimes cases they take to trial, and Mr. Moylan has advocated for maximum sentences each time.

He also is advocating for the legislature to mandate lifetime prison sentences for convicted pedophiles, saying these offenders should not be allowed back into society to hurt more children.

I know my uncle very well. I believe he would not do such thing as you were accusing him. I grew up in this hands when he was still here in the Philippines. He is a very good person— Full of energy and love. He would treat me as his own daughter. Give me allowance whenever I needed it and he also fund for my tuition fee and not even asking for anything in return. He just want my happiness and also the happiness of the people around him. Through him, I graduated BS Aeronautical Engineering. I am now a professional because of his kind help. I want him to see my achievements and give him all the happiness and good things this world could give because he deserve it. If I could only go there and testify how great father he is. I could see that during our videocalls before. I am very proud of him for always working so hard for his family. I know he is a good father and uncle to his family. Please have mercy. I love my uncle so much. It breaks my heart to see this news.

We’re so sad of this news.I personally won’t agree that he’s guilty of the crime.I’ve known him since 2009 when I became part of their family, he’s my brother-in -law.He was a loving and compassionate person. He sacrificed a lot for his family. He even supported his nieces and nephews in their schooling . He’s a family-oriented person. A supportive and responsible father to his three sons. The only thing is that he couldn’t speak English fluently . I remembered the story of Leo Tolstoy entitled, God sees the truth but waits, I could really relate it to his situation right now.I really hope and pray that justice will prevail in the end. We plead for your consideration and set him free.

Growing up with my brother and knowing him as a good and super sweet kind of person
And was misunderstood. I couldn’t imagine this will happen to a good man like him. Growing with no records of wrong since birth no records of any bad experience with him. He is a GOOD man!!!!!!! No bad intentions to others most especially to family. He might looks bad but he’s with PURE HEART!!!!!!!!!!

i dont care how much these people preach that he is a good man. a “good man” can also be a “good man” because they hide it well. a “good man” to one but a monster to another. but hey lets forgive him just because his family backs him up and allows him to continue to hurt another. shame on him but shame on you even more. people like them and all who support them make me sick. fuckin pochada
